Clickbank link cloaking can be done in a number of ways, and the best and cheapest way is to use a free offer online, especially good are the ’shortening’ services. Have you ever used ‘Twitter’? If you have, then you’ll know that entering a URL will result in it being ’shortened’. This is an example of a masked URL. However, in the case of Twitter it’s not because people want to hide where the link is going, but because they want to make it shorter!

However, these resources work fine for our purposes. One of my old favourites was TinyURL, but this service has been far beaten by bit.ly (that’s the address, bit.ly). It’s used extensively with Twitter, and generates miniscule URLs for you. But, that’s not the main intention this is a good one, and it’s purely because bit.ly has link tracking. For this feature to work properly, you’ll firstly need to make an account, as this will mean your links are built under your account. Tracking means you don’t just mask the link, you can see how many are clicking on it, this is critical for a winning campaign.

Clickbank link cloaking can also be done with a bit of basic HTML. This also means you can create awesome ‘call to action’ buttons, meaning you’ll get more clicks. Simply do a search for ‘html link’ and read the instructions at the first site in the listings. Remember though to use a tool like TinyURL and bit.ly to disguise the link first, as people will still be able to see where your HTML link is heading.

There are also a number of Clickbank link cloaking resources out there under paid membership. If you are considering one of these, make sure you look around to see if the price is right for what they are offering, and consider adding it to a package if it’s going to the worth it. An example of a link tracking tool is ‘My-Linker’ with the Wealthy Affiliate package, and this is my favourite .

If it’s popular, it’s a safe bet that it will be hard to get traction in the search engines.

Visit the merchants website, while in the ‘role’ of your target market member. If the page would make you want to buy it, then it’s good, and go with it.

Thirdly, get a website up and running.

Go to to a free website maker like Blogger, or Squidoo, and make an account there. Now it’s time to start promoting your product. For this, pretend you have a friend in your target market, and write the page to them. Offer them information (very important this one), as information leads to a higher trust, and means that people are more likely to trust your recommendation at the end. Include your ‘keyword’ throughout the piece. A keyword is a phrase that people will enter into a search engine (like Google or Yahoo) to find your piece. Again, think like the customer. What would they enter to find out information on this subject?

Finally, make your recommendations for the products, and link them via your special Clickbank link.

Then watch the money pour in!

Now, one site will not make you mega rich, it probably won’t make you much at all. To really use this technique well, you need many sites, so don’t stop at one! Most Clickbank tutorials would want you to hit up some forums, and tell them of your reviews, however be very careful not to be a spammer.
